Then the meeting was thrown open for questions and suggestions

Q. Can we have a car park for disabled drivers by the cultural centre, as it is too far to walk from the car park and the access for emergency services is blocked by parked cars.

A. It will be looked into

Q. When will Sector A be adopted

A. In the first trimester of 2012. The other Sectors will follow one by one, but no time scale given

Q. When will the street lighting be restored on Sector A

A. The electricians have been working on Sector A for the last two weeks, and it is expected that all the street here will have lights by the end of October.

Q. Will the residents of Camposol, have to pay anything extra, over and above their IBI payments for services, as they would if it was an entity

A. No. there will be no extra costs involved, but everyone will have to start paying IBI. At the moment there is only about 900 roperties paying IBI

Q. Is the Town Hall aware of the dumping illegal site on B?

A. No, but he police will go to check this and fine those responsible.

Q. What is the progress with Hydrografica about the rambla situation.

A. This is a very complicated procedure, as it has to have the approval of  National Government as well as Regional Government, and at the moment the Town Hall are talking to the government in Madrid via the Confederación Hidrográfica. The council are still waiting for an answer  from the CH on the project presented by the previous administration. It is quite possible they will not get anything until the new central government takes place.

Q. Has a solution been reached regarding the 28 illegal builds on RE3

A. The Council are trying to find a technical solution, but demolition is NOT one of the options.

Q. None of the Villas on D 32 have their escrituras, but this is not connected with the rambla problem.

A. This is legal problem for the whole of D sector, and the council are looking into it.

Q. When are we going to get a bus service?

A. The Council are trying to organise a bus service, but at the moment the train is a provisional solution

Q. Are Masa coming back on site, and if so will they be allowed to build again

A. The council have been talking to Masa for three months, and are close to reaching agreement, as it would be in Masa’s interests to return. They have been given the opportunity to collaborate, but if they try to cheat again, they will be taken to court.

They must also rectify all of the problems on Camposol before they are allowed to build again

David Fernandez stated that Masa is very interested in the completion of Camposol

Q. What is the situation with Aqualia being replaced

A. In the first quarter of 2012 the problems with Aqualia will be fixed

Q. The CRA have compiled a list of residents without water meters, and when the changeover takes place, will be able to notify these members as to what steps they should take. Will this be useful to the council

A. When another company takes over from Aqualia, this information will be appreciated

Q. Santiago Martinez the council architect asked the CRA to identify the derelict and abandoned villas Is this information still required.

A. David will talk to Sr Martinez

Q. Will the flooding by the bridge be rectified.

A. Masa are dealing with this

Q. If the water company is changed, how will this affect the residents of Sector A who have contracts with Aqualia

A. This will be dealt with by the council

Q. As the residents of D32 have not got their escrituras, how will they know if their properties have been embargoed.

A. Go to the Land Registry in C/ La Via, and ask for a Nota Simple.

In relation to the above, the council asked any residents who have paid plus valia to Masa, to show them their receipts

Q. Will we receive IBI bills for previous years when available to pay IBI?

A. Yes, for up to 4 years. It is the law.

Q. What is the council going to do with derelict houses?

A. Derelict houses are planned to be demolished by MASA. The Town Hall cannot do anything, but to press MASA to do it.

Q. Are the garden disposal bins on Sector A going to be emptied more often?

A. If someone wants the garden disposal bins to get emptied, he/she have to tell it to Tatiana.

At the next meeting on November 16th at 17:30, a lawyer will be present to answer in more details the legal questions. If any one has a question could they please notify Tatiana

September A Big Month For F.A.S.T. Camposol!
This month saw many changes to improve the equipment are service available to FAST (First Aid Support Team Camposol) with 16 volunteer responders receiving training to Murcian Standards in Defibrillation and Oxygen Administration all due to the financial support from PALS who funded not only the equipment but also the 3rd party training, all so that we at FAST can deliver the best care for Camposol Residents, working hand in hand and meeting the shared goals of
PALS “ Protection And Life Saving”. We and the residents are indebted to them.

The availability of such equipment is a wonderful step forward, where we now have the power to de fibrillate or in lay terms pass and electrical charge through a heart that is in VT as they say in Casualty, where the heart quivers like a jelly and is unable to pump oxygenated blood around the body. The charge stops the quivering and allows the brain to restore the normal rhythm if it is capable of being re started. This combined with oxygen therapy gives a patient a much better chance of a successful recovery. Further to this, Oxygen therapy can aid breathing difficulties such as asthma, strokes, drowning et.c.

To add to this FAST have also purchased 6 Ambu Bags from donated funds which also assist patients with respiratory failure and work in conjunction with the oxygen therapy of stand alone in place of basic mouth to mouth rescue breaths.

All this will be effective from The beginning of October 2011. The important thing is however, that speed is important especially when dealing with Heart Attacks (Cardiac and or Respiratory Arrest) Strokes, Drowning, Electrocution or similar. Remember that for every minute passing, the chances of a successful recovery can diminish by 10% every minute, so if anyone thinks that such an event is happening, RING 112 AND THEN RING FAST …FAST to give the best possible chance of recovery!

The whole system of calling FAST on one single landline number would not be possible without the support from “Compusurf” who provide the landline and full computerised changeover system that links the line to either the 24 hour or 12 hour emergency phone, this has been provided completely free of charge by Compusurf to enable Camposol Residents to have the most advanced service available using its new system on phones carried by volunteers 24/7 365 days per year.

FAST never fail to be amazed at the support given by so many people to help us deliver the best we can to Camposol, PALS, Compusurf and the big providers but there are so many more, from one selfless couple who asked people attending their 20th Wedding Anniversary not to give a present but donate to FAST, so 220€ was spent on Ambu bags and bandages. The family of Mr Micky Rooney who recently passed away asked for no flowers but donations to FAST, another 137€ came our way, The D sector group donated 1150€ an truly magnificent figure to enable further investment and maintenance of equipment. There are many more too, including book sales and collecting tins from the customers of The Tea Pot in the Port that have earned over 500€.
Finally we thank Kelly Ensor who has come to our rescue after a long period without further Red Cross training as after the election we had no one to represent us until Kelly made it all happen again. To all we offer our sincere gratitude.

FAST have also now planned a Christmas Fayre at Mariano´s Restaurant on the 29th of October that will open at 11am and continue through to 4pm to minimise queues and pressure found at some previous events and is early enough to get a whole host of Christmas Gifts or all kinds, cards and calendars all under one roof and early enough to catch posting dates to home Countries. All with Christmas music food and carols to get us in the mood for Christmas and with a special guest appearance or our very own Nurse Gladys Emmanuelle ……a better friend than enema!!

Seriously though Camposol is now a major lead in the services available within an Urbanizacion that we can be proud of and FAST intend to remain a major part of that to ensure “Camposol is Always A Safer Place For All” thanks to our wonderful committed volunteers including our many new recruits and the support from the community.
