Priority Questions to be presented to Mayor at next meeting.
After discussion amongst the committee members, it was decided that Bob would email Kelly Ensor with a list of outstanding queries that we would like to discuss with the Mayor
At the moment, Kelly is keeping Bob informed on a weekly basis, about her discussions with the Mayor, so it was not deemed as urgent that we should prepare a list for the meeting with Señor Campillo, expected sometime in September.
If any points could not be satisfactorily answered by Kelly, than we would put them to the Mayor at the meeting.
Discussion of whether or not the AGM should be opened initially to non-members
It had previously been suggested by Les, that maybe, we should open the first part of the AGM to non members, so that they would know what was happening as regards the work and progress of the CRA, and then they could leave when the actual AGM began.
After discussion, it was decided that it would be too difficult to administer, and people would have ample time to register for membership at the cabin or by email before the AGM, as they would NOT be allowed to join on the day.
The date of the AGM has been set for Monday 14th November 2011 at 10.00am at the Hotel Sensol.
This will be advertised on notice boards, and in the next two editions of the Costa Calida Chronicle, and the Camposol Journal
Forum Poll
For the past few weeks, we have been conducting a poll on the forum, as to whether or not contributors should sign off with their real names (Christian and Surname)
It was noted that in order to gain access to the forum each applicant had to fulfill the criteria of being a CRA Member. Information collected at the initial membership registration stage includes details such as full name, NIE/Passport number, Camposol address and UK address if applicable. Every forum applicant is manually checked against the membership database. Therefore, no forum member is anonymous to the membership/ website secretary, but at the present time those who choose not to sign off their posts remain anonymous to other forum members.
The poll results revealed the following:
For 67 %
Against 12%
No Pref 22 %
Although only a small percentage of members voted, the overall result was in favour of identifying themselves.
The following will be added to the existing Forum Terms and Conditions:
‘It was agreed that members wishing to post on the CRA Forum should sign off using their real names.
The Administrators reserve the right to delete those posts made by members who do not comply with this request.’
List of members details for the Town Hall
Kelly Ensor had mentioned that the Town Hall would be constructing a database of all home-owners on Camposol. Our initial understanding was that this was a request to pass CRA members’ details onto the Town Hall. However, as Jackie pointed out, this would contravene the Data Protection Act. The Act protects everyone’s right to privacy and prevents any company or organisation from passing on personal and identifiable details to third parties without their prior consent.
The point was made that perhaps we could contact our members in order to gain their permission but it was felt that this would be very labour intensive as well as a drain on funds.
Reporting of Water Leaks
Joyce still has the duty ‘phone, as her Spanish is better than that of other committee members!! (Apart from José who is working)
She stated that the system of reporting water leaks seems to be improving, as Pepe is being more responsive and reported leaks are being attended to promptly.
However, the subject will be broached in the letter that Bob is sending to Kelly Ensor (See priority questions for Mayor)
Any Other Business
Newsletter
The subject of a weekly/fortnightly printed newsletter was discussed. The Committee had agreed some time ago that a printed newsletter was necessary to keep those without internet access up-to-date.
It was agreed that the newsletter should be committee led.
Due to the committee’s already busy workload it was decided that a newsletter should be as labour saving as possible. Jackie will report on the feasibility of converting the monthly e-newsletter to a paper version at the next meeting.
Payment of IBI Bills
Recently, whilst on duty in the CRA cabin, Joyce was approached by several members concerned about IBI bills.
These members have their escrituras, but for one reason or another do not receive IBI bills from the Council, and are becoming concerned about receiving very large bills in the future.
They asked Joyce, if there was anything that could be organised with the Council, to enable them to pay a yearly estimated amount that would be deducted from the genuine invoice when it is received.
If enough members are interested in this scheme, we would contact the Council, to examine the feasibility of the project.
Repairs to the CRA Cabin
Joyce is going to contact a builder for an estimate for a new concrete base for the cabin.
However, if the shed disintegrates on moving, a new shed would be purchased.
Their being no further business, the meeting closed at 2.00pm
